Leo's Twitter Updates for 2008-02-11

  • I'm protective of my kids, too, but I wonder if HRC is a little over the top over the MSNBC comment. Now she's demanding Shuster be fired. #
  • "It would be in good taste to stop the music now." #
  • Feist's The Reminder: $9.99 for 128kbps copy protected AAC on iTunes - $7.99 for 256kbps unprotected MP3 on Amazon. Jeff Bezos FTW. #
  • Ringo Starr and Dave Stewart - separated at birth? #
  • Let me get this straight. Every time I make a purchase, Wachovia transfers $1 from MY check account into MY savings? I'm rich! #
  • Wow. I didn't know Gershwin wrote the United Airlines jingle. I hope they paid him well. #
  • @dondonreisinger - very interesting theory. Please come on TWiT next week to discuss it! #
  • Guess I'll be getting me a Starbucks card. They do mean a coffee card not a Visa card, right? #
  • @davewiner - That's why a McCain-Huckabee ticket is strong. Appeals to centrists and conservatives know they'll be right in the thick of it. #

Leo,

Gershwin didn't write it for United. It's called "Rhapsody In Blue" and was written before United Airlines existed. Wikipedia says this:

"United's theme song is George Gershwin's 1924 "Rhapsody in Blue", which it licensed from Gershwin's estate for $500,000 in 1976.[36] "Rhapsody" would have entered the public domain in 2000, but the Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998 extended its copyright another 20 years."
