Greetings from Sydney

Mikkel Aaland and I just arrived in Sydney on the way to Hobart, Tasmania. Qantas took great care of us on the way - it was my first time in the "bubble" up top of a 747 and I slept like a baby. Maybe that's because they give you your very own set of jammies.

Aussie Mike met us at the gate and got us into the Qantas Club. I took a much needed shower and feel like a new man. I'm headed off to the "meetup" at the SYD Starbucks. Hope to see a few of you there!

Looks like a great flight. The foreign airlines really know how to treat their passengers.

Have fun Leo in the land down under.

http://vimeo.com/album/10734 for your Leo in Sydney fix. I'll pop some more up later/tomorrow.

Do you get to keep the jammies? hmmm....free t-shirts, the one way to get people hooked on your service.

For Phred: You could call into the radio show via Skype into the regular toll free U.S. number 888-8ASK-LEO, but I you'll have to be on the paid version of Skype. Also, remember to get up very early, as the show begins at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Pacific Time.

So, 11am Pacific Time Saturday and Sunday... that would be 4am AEST Sunday (2 hours after daylight saving time ends locally) and 4am AEST Monday in Tasmania.

Right?

Batten down the hatches Leo. Hobart is 42 degrees south and you are about to witness first hand why they are called the roaring 40’s..

The wind is kicking up quite a bit. I'm going to upload the video from our first day then I'll head out for some foul weather shooting!

Leo,
I'm envious. I would love to go on a photo expedition especially one to Tasmania. Please post your photos including technical details. Besides the usual comments about the jammies provided by Qantas (very nice) for the "bubble" (I had that experience one time on a high school trip to Italy only because our school had the perfect number to fit the seats up top), I am curious about the photo itself and the fact that it was exposed at the same lighting level from front to back showing the whole upper cabin. The settings and equipment used by Mikkel Aaland on that shot would answer some questions that have perplexed my indoor photos for years. Enjoy the experience. I hope it rivals your Egypt trip in December.
