TWiT Live AIR App

Thanks to Peter Elst who made this Adobe Air app for watching TWiT Live. This should work on Windows or OS X...
[airbadge]TwitLive, http://leoville.com/wp-content/uploads/twitlive-air/TwitLive.air, 1.5, null[/airbadge]
If you don't have AIR already installed the installer will download and install it first, then install the TWiT Live app. After installation you'll have an application on your system with two tabs. The first tab shows the live stream with an attached chat window. Tab two contains the always-updated TWiT Live calendar. Thanks to Peter Elst for a very handy app!

Agh, now I need to track down a decent TWiT icon I can use in RK Dock. Thanks for this, will use it often.

Did a bit of photoshop work, made a dock icon for TWiT if anyone needs it:
Original image by Mike Shelby, I just cut it out and cleaned up the edges.

This is awesome! When I try the normal twitlive.tv it stutters constantly I had given up on watching Leos shows. The air app works without any stutter! This is on OS X 10.5.4 with a 5MBit connection in Australia. I guess the flash is better or something, I don't know, but I love it!

This is very nicely done (love the IRC and calendar integration) and a good example of where Air apps are actually useful

Get use to it because many of you will need to carefully decide what you use you bandwidth on.

Comcast is testing tiered service now just like Time Warner. They are planning on bumping up the rate $10 and capping you to 40 gig. I downloaded a new stargate worlds beta which ate up 20gig. That was one days worth. If this happens I will have to choose between quality programming like the Cranky Geeks or college girls dancing on Youtube. If you are in a test market for Comcast I would tell them where they can shove it while you have the chance.
This is a money grab and these companies are in collusion on this. We need to start thinking about prison time for these decision makers. There are better ways to make money than lying to the federal regulators.

There is no problem with bandwidth. This is a ploy to preventing you from getting broadcasting via the internet. They are already providing digital high def services which moves massive amounts of digital bandwidth to your home on multiple channels. They aren''t complaining about that. Many homes have more than one cable box and some are recording up to 2 channels while playing back 1 per box. The problem is two fold. They are unwilling to spend money on the infrastructure or they are in such finacial trouble that they can't. If that is the case then they need to disclose this to stock holders. If you are a stock holder you need to understand I am not going to support these companies. I quit my sevice and I encourage every person to vote with the check book. The other possibility they know or are assuming the FCC engineers and administrators don't have the skill set to truely understand the issue.

This is a time when we need the inovation and the doors open to endless possibilites. We need to ability to inovate and create new products, services, and markets where customers don't have to make choices or be faced with high unexpected bills. Congress and the Senate needs to step up or these companies need to step down. Maybe Cranky Geeks hosts are afraid of a little competition. But I download Leo's content for later listening. I will have to wait to see if I have bandwidth. I'm sick of the BS and everyone that feels the same way needs to write Congress now.
