More political pandering. Wish you'd stick to tech stuff and drop politics.

OK I'm just looking for the politics here. Hmmm. Oh. Is the word "recession" political? Seems more factual. Or maybe "depression" would be more appropriate. How can a description of the patent current economic woes of this country be seen as political?

You tell'em Leo. Our economy is on the verge of an all out crash, that affects the tech industry quite a lot, so it is very relevant.

It's more than that comment alone. You are always interjecting short-smug remarks about politics in much that you do. I don't come here because I'm a "Bushie" and need to learn from Leo how great he thinks Obama is or why Republicans are at fault for everything in the world. I like your shows because of technology and would like them more if you stuck with that. It's much in the same way you talk down about Microsoft products and sometimes mock Paul Thurrott during some of your shows with him.

Like a many in media today you made a vague derogatory statement about a specific situation with out qualifying it what so ever. What exactly does "It’s kind of quiet here. Smells like a recession. in Austin, TX" mean Leo? I'm guessing it doesn't mean anything. Your becoming part of the drive-by-media spreading your opinions as fact and moving on to the next opportunity to bash someone or something.

Like I said Leo, it's not just this comment alone. I really like you and your shows but would like them much more if you kept politics out of it. I respect the fact the you have an opinion and feel strong about your candidate - but I don't tune it to get your thoughts on politics. There are plenty of other shows out there for that.

Just my 2cents.

Sorry. Here's what it means..

It was very quiet in downtown Austin, right in the middle of what should have been a busy work day. I connected it with the terrible economic news we were getting that day. It was like the feeling you get in autumn when you know winter is just around the corner. It felt like people were girding themselves for a recession just around the corner.

Of course I only had 140 words.

It was an utterly non-partisan statement. Calling it "drive-by-media" is odd in the extreme. It IS opinion. No masquerading as fact, here. Of course if you want to interpret it as a shot at your party, you're welcome to.

As I understand it, Leo's Twitter is not the same as his netcasts. Therefore, though you may have some ground for argument regarding what he may or may not say during said netcasts, if you are upset with what he says on his Twitter, then don't read it. His Twitter is for him and his thoughts, personally, not his professional opinions about things. That's why he puts his personal tweets on his "leolaporte" account instead of "twit."

Wow, I've never heard you this heated before Leo... I would think all practical people would be concerned as well, party-loyalty aside. I would only have to assume the difference of opinion comes in to how to solve the problems at hand rather than what has boiled down to a finger-pointing contest in many circles... This has the potential of a lot of shake-up which would set us back for many years if not dealt with specifically - not speedily.
