The Race Begins

sputnik.jpgSputnik was launched on this day 50 years ago, beginning the space race. And there's a more personal anniversary for me. It was on this day, three years ago, that I created my first podcast: an RSS feed of episodes of my radio show. You can read my post about it here. We've come a long way in three years!

Leo, or anyone else: Where can I get that spiffy "iPhone optimized" button in Leo's left sidebar? I downloaded the plugin, but they don't seem to have the code for the button on their site.

BTW, Tuesday was my 6-week http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=262584984" rel="nofollow">podcast anniversary! I've got a while to get to 3 years...

I can't imagine life without the weekly TWIT podcast collection. Thanks Leo!

That's great Leo. I'm glad that you're doing all you do. It was last year around the time James Kim disappeared that I became reacquainted with what you're doing. Wanting to find out more about the situation, I searched you out and found the TWiT network for the first time. Consequently, I have learned so much through your shows that have lead to my own blog and a podcast that I work on. Something good came from a bad situation. Thanks for all you do.

Leo: I'm very glad that you're successful at all your Podcasting efforts, I am a huge fan and listen to many of the TWiT collection. Keep up the good work, and have a beer on me; If I'm ever in San Fan I'll be sure to track you down and buy you a beer, at least. :)

It's too bad that the affiliates squashed the video cast of Leo's radio show. I would have put it on my Mogulus tech station if Leo had released it under Creative Commons License.
I hope he does something with his Twit podcasts.

The traditional gift for a third anniverary is leather (http://www.findgift.com/Anniversary-Table).

Darn. The Folsom Street Fair was LAST Sunday (http://www.folsomstreetfair.com/).

Happy 3rd Leo! (And snap that whip)

Congrats on your 3rd podcasting--er, netcasting--anniversary, and congrats to Sputnik, wherever its ashes are. All we need now is Andy Ihnatko to appropriately commemorate the occasion by singing the Soviet national anthem...

Hooray for Internet shows!

Leo, I remember seeing your podcast back then. Of course, it was much easier to see because there were only a handful of them at the time. I used iPodder to yank the feed and place it onto my 3rd Gen iPod. If it weren't for the radio show podcast back then, I probably would never have listened. Thanks for seeing podcasts back then as an opportunity to expand your audience.

On an unrelated note, you may want to check the width of your comment section in your CSS. The text from the comments are going underneath the items from your right sidebar. Actually, in looking at it again, this could be from Russell Heimlich's comment with the long URL forcing the rest to push the boundary.
