MacWorld Expo

MacWorld Expo is coming up January 15-18 and we're planning to do several shows from the convention hall including MacBreak Weekly and TWiT. Save the date.

CES is the week before and I'm happy to say I will be skipping that monster of a show for the third year in a row. I was thinking of doing the radio show from there until I found out that for the first time CES would not be open on the weekend. Just as well. It's an almost impossible conference to cover on-site (and I'll be getting back from a family trip to Egypt the day before anyway).

Man, I must be in the wrong business: Leo's been to France, Canada, the U.S., he's going to Egypt, and who knows where else he's been. Thurrott goes to France at least 2 or 3 times a year.
I'm older than Leo & I've been to Canada, the U.S., and once to the Bahamas.

Will there been any Apple products left to announce? All the rumor hype seems to include everything from high end Macs to AppleTV HD to all sorts of Leopard goodness to world peace (at least according to FSJ, or maybe that was a dream he had.) Maybe MWE'08 will be a snoze fest. The more I think about, no Apple fanboys will care. Certainly not as soon as Oct '07. No way.

I don't see how you can take yourself seriously by skipping the biggest consumer electronic i.e TECH show every year.

Its amazing that you consider the MacWorld expo more important to this week in technology.

I guess you're not trying not to look like complete fanboi anymore huh Leo. I"m dissapointed....this year will also be the last year Bill Gates will be keynoting. But yes you must see the Turtleneck deity...

I agree with you Leo that the CES is way to big to cover. But I also agree with a previous comment about the fact that Bill Gates will be giving his last ever keynote there. Maybe you should have someone in the TWIT family be there to provide a firsthand account of Bill's keynote, and maybe even do a quickey interview of Bill.

Leo, have fun in Egypt with your family, they are the important ones, over the years you have given so much to the Public, missing the expo is not a big deal in this day and age, you can harness the coverage from the elites and consolidate the fire in a way where all will benefit. Love all of the hard work you do and the example others can learn from, for years to come.

I will be there. I am very much looking forward to learning about podcasting using the iMac and the MacBreak podcast during the show.
